FG begins payment of delayed February salaries, blames technical glitch

The Federal Government has commenced payment of February 2026 salaries to treasury funded workers after days of delay that sparked anxiety among civil servants. The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation said the delay was caused by a technical glitch in the salary payment system, which has now been fixed, with measures put in place to prevent a recurrence. According to the statement by OAGF spokesperson Bawa Mokwa, payment of February salaries started on Monday, March 2, with workers expected to receive alerts as banks process the transactions. The office also confirmed that one month out of the outstanding wage award arrears has been paid, as part of efforts to cushion the impact of economic reforms on federal workers.
