Wike to critics: your successors will also betray you
Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has warned political office holders who back acts of betrayal that their own successors will eventually turn against them. Speaking at the inauguration of the Rivers State Renewed Hope Ambassadors headquarters in Port Harcourt, Wike said any senator, representative, minister or governor who supports betrayal should expect to face the same treatment in future. He noted that second term governors trying to impose successors while backing treachery would “never survive it,” adding that such problems usually start immediately after the new governor is sworn in. Wike, who remains in a bitter rift with his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, restated his commitment and that of his allies to President Bola Tinubu’s re election bid in 2027.
