Galamsey Devastates Over 2,000 Hectares of Cocoa Farms in Ashanti Region.

The illegal mining phenomenon, commonly known as galamsey, has wreaked havoc on cocoa farms in the Ashanti Region, with more than 2,000 hectares reported destroyed. This alarming information came to light during a recent visit by the Ashanti Regional COCOBOD Manager to farmers in the Brofoyedru Cocoa District within the Adansi Asokwa District.Ebenezer Kwabena Agyen, the Ashanti Regional Manager of the Cocoa Health & Extension Division of COCOBOD, expressed significant concern over the escalating galamsey issue during an interview with Adom News correspondent Isaac K. Normanyo.
