NDLEA Open to Exporting Cannabis Oil, Bans Local Use
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has stated it is open to the controlled export of cannabis oil to boost foreign earnings but remains firmly opposed to its local consumption in Nigeria. Speaking at a scientific workshop, NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd.) explained the agency's position. He emphasized that while the export of cannabis oil to countries where it is legal could be considered, such operations would be strictly licensed, monitored, and confined to export free zones. Marwa highlighted the significant health risks associated with cannabis, including mental health issues and addiction.
