WAEC Confirms 14 Arrests for WASSCE Malpractice Across Ghana
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has confirmed the arrest of 14 individuals—including teachers, students, and invigilators—for alleged malpractice in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). According to WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, the arrests were made at multiple centres, including: Yeji Senior High School Abbott College (Asante Bekwai) Atwima Kwanwoma Presbyterian SHS Kapi noted that the number of arrests could rise as investigations continue, adding that results from the implicated schools will undergo extra scrutiny. Adventist Day SHS (Kumasi): Several mobile phones were seized from candidates, prompting WAEC to shut down the centre.
