PDP Chieftain Showunmi Hosts Fidau Prayers for Late Ex-President Buhari in Ogun
Otunba Segun Showunmi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and convener of The Alternative, on Friday organised the 40th-day Fidau prayers in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Speaking at the event, Showunmi urged Nigerian leaders to shun greed and self-interest, stressing that the nation’s resources should be used to improve citizens’ lives. “It is time our leaders live modestly, avoid greed, and serve the people sincerely, just as the late Muhammadu Buhari did,” he said. Showunmi explained that he organised the prayer to honour Buhari’s disciplined and simple lifestyle, noting that he lived modestly both in and out of office. “This is a little way of encouraging leaders to live right, knowing people are watching.
