Interior Minister Seeks Rotary, Stakeholders’ Support in Rehabilitating Ex-Inmates

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has appealed to Rotary International and other humanitarian groups to partner with government efforts in rehabilitating and reintegrating ex-inmates into society. The minister, represented by Amos Ayodele Akemulewa, made the call at the 10th anniversary and investiture ceremony of the Rotary Club of Abuja Lugbe-FHA Estate. He commended Rotary International for its consistent interventions in correctional centers, particularly in vocational training, educational programs, and prison decongestion. “We have received significant support from Rotary, especially in training inmates, providing education, and even paying fines and offering legal aid for those awaiting trial,” Akemulewa said.
