NSS Scandal: Ex-CEO Allegedly Paid MP to Kill Story – AG
The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, has accused the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Service Scheme (NSS) of paying a Member of Parliament (MP) to suppress a corruption scandal linked to the organization.Speaking at a press conference in Accra on March 24, 2025, Dr. Ayine revealed that investigations had uncovered financial transactions involving top NSS officials, vendors, and private individuals aimed at covering up fraudulent activities within the scheme."We now have evidence of payments made into the accounts of top executives of the National Service Scheme by vendors, private individuals, and staff of the scheme," Dr. Ayine stated.The Attorney-General further disclosed that, in November 2024, the NSS CEO and others allegedly made payments to a Ghanaian MP to prevent media coverage of the ghost names scandal and publicly defend those involved."This is a […]
