Minority Alleges National Security Operatives Stole GH₵10,000 from Former BoG Governor

The Minority in Parliament has accused National Security operatives of engaging in unlawful activities, including theft, during a raid on the home of former Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison. At a press conference on Thursday, March 20, 2025, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin condemned the alleged "Rambo-style" operation that occurred on Wednesday, March 19, at Dr. Addison’s residence in Roman Ridge, Accra.Afenyo-Markin claimed that during the raid, the operatives stole GH₵10,000 that was left on the former governor's bed. He also alleged that personal items, such as earrings and necklaces, belonging to Dr. Addison’s wife were taken.The Minority leader further suggested that the security operatives involved in the raid may have been politically motivated, pointing to their potential lack of pay.
