Adelabu promises more reliable power for Nigerians in 2026
Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu says Nigerians should expect more reliable, accessible and sustainable electricity supply in 2026 after what he described as a year of “focused groundwork” in 2025.In his New Year message, he said the federal government’s priority is to stabilise supply to homes, businesses and critical sectors and to make grid disturbances “a thing of the past”. Adelabu highlighted work done under the Presidential Power Initiative (Siemens deal) to strengthen the national grid and curb the frequent collapses seen in previous years.He said government will deepen efforts to enhance grid stability and expand transmission infrastructure in 2026 to reduce outages and improve power delivery nationwide.
