NDC Accuses NPP of Fertilizer Smuggling in Upper East.
Malik Basintale, the Deputy National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has alleged that members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) are involved in smuggling fertilizers from Ghana's Upper East Region to neighboring countries, including Burkina Faso and Togo. Speaking at a rally in Binduri, he claimed this illegal operation is damaging local agriculture and exacerbating the economic hardships faced by farmers.Basintale specifically accused Abdulai Abanga, the Member of Parliament for Binduri and Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, of being a central figure in the alleged smuggling activities. He pledged that if the NDC wins the upcoming December elections, those implicated would face legal consequences."We swear, when the NDC comes to power, they will go to jail," he stated, emphasizing the NDC's commitment to addressing the issue and supporting local farmers.
