Akyem Anyinasin Residents Protest Alleged Illegal Mining Plans
Residents and peasant farmers in Akyem Anyinasin, a farming community in the Eastern Region, have voiced strong opposition to alleged plans by some individuals to undertake illegal mining in the area. The community fears that such activities would devastate their farmlands and pollute vital water bodies, posing a direct threat to both livelihoods and the environment. According to the farmers, they have received reliable information that attempts are being made to mine on their lands, sparking widespread concern and anxiety among residents.
