Veteran Nollywood Actor Duro Michael Dies at 67
Veteran Nollywood actor Duro Michael has passed away at the age of 67. The news was announced by producer Stanley Ontop in an Instagram post. According to the announcement, Michael died a few days ago after a battle with a terminal illness. Ontop lamented the lack of support within the industry, writing, "We no dey help ourselves in this Nollywood." The actor's health struggles were public. In 2022, he received a ₦5 million donation from Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin for medical treatment. Despite this, his condition worsened, and he made a public appeal for more help and acting roles in 2024. Duro Michael was known for his roles in several Nollywood films, including "Midnight Love" (2003) and "The Guilty" (2006). His death has sparked another wave of mourning within the Nigerian film industry.
