NDLEA, Police Arrest 57 Suspects in Major Kano Drug Raid
The Kano Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in collaboration with the Police, has arrested 57 suspects in a coordinated operation targeting drug hotspots across the state. The joint raids, conducted on September 24, 25, and 27, were part of the Kano State Joint Task Force for Peace Restoration and Youth Rehabilitation, led by Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim-Kofar Mata. Areas raided included Kofar Ruwa, Tashar Rami, Rijiyar Lemo, Kurna, Mil Tara, Zage, Dorayi Karshen Waya, Dawanau, and Filin Idi—all identified as hubs of drug trafficking and abuse. According to NDLEA spokesperson Sadiq Muhammad-Maigatari, operatives recovered assorted illicit substances and locally made weapons.
