American Woman Jailed 10 Years in Ghana for Bolt Driver Robbery.
An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced Skylah Leeann Marine Travis, an American woman, to 10 years of imprisonment with hard labor for robbing a Bolt driver. Her Liberian fiancé, Daniel Ireland, was also sentenced to the same term after pleading guilty to conspiracy, robbery, and stabbing the victim.The incident occurred on January 7, 2025, when the couple hired the driver to transport them from Labadi to Teshie Malik in Accra. Upon arrival, Ireland stabbed the driver multiple times and the couple fled with his car, two phones, and GHC1,000 cash. The driver, severely injured, was rescued by a passerby and hospitalized.The couple admitted to the crime and claimed they were under the influence of drugs, having traveled to Ghana for rehabilitation.
