Obasogie denies match fixing claims after three month suspension

Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has firmly denied allegations of match fixing after his Tanzanian club, Singida Black Stars, handed him a three month suspension. The club announced that he was suspended pending investigation into suspected match manipulation in two games, including a CAF Confederation Cup tie against Flambeau du Centre and a league match against Namungo FC. In a personal statement, Obasogie insisted he had never engaged in match fixing and would never do so, describing the incidents under review as normal football errors, not deliberate acts.
