Gunmen attack Delta APC congress, Ibori Suenu escapes alleged assassination

Gunmen stormed an All Progressives Congress ward congress in Delta State on Saturday, forcing House of Representatives member Erhiatake Ibori Suenu to be whisked away by security operatives in what her camp described as an assassination attempt. The attack happened during the exercise in Ughelli, throwing the venue into confusion.​ Witnesses said the assailants arrived suddenly and began shooting, causing delegates, party officials and supporters to run in different directions.
