Explosion at DICON Factory in Kaduna Kills 2, Injures 4
An explosion at the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) factory in Kaduna claimed two lives and injured four others on Saturday. Among the deceased was a military officer and a civilian worker. The blast reportedly occurred during gunpowder production at the facility located in Kurmin Gwari. The powerful explosion shook nearby buildings and caused panic, with residents fleeing for safety. Eyewitnesses said the incident happened while some staff members were on weekend duty. The injured victims were first taken to St. Gerard’s Catholic Hospital in Kakuri before being transferred by military ambulance to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna.
