Dangote targets N739 per litre petrol as refinery cuts depot price

MRS and other partners of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery are expected to start selling petrol at N739 per litre, following a fresh reduction in the refinery’s depot price. The move comes two days after the refinery slashed its petrol gantry price from N828 to N699 per litre, a cut of about N129 per litre.​ Speaking at a press briefing at the Lekki refinery, Dangote Group President, Aliko Dangote, said he was aware that some filling stations keep pump prices high despite lower depot prices.  Dangote Denies Ownership of Truck in Fatal Ondo Crash

The Dangote Group has officially denied that a truck involved in a fatal accident in Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, belongs to the company. In a statement released on Thursday, the conglomerate clarified that the truck with registration number JJJ 365 XB is not owned by Dangote or any of its subsidiaries. It stated that verified records show the vehicle is owned by an independent logistics company. The company emphasized that the truck was not carrying any Dangote products but was transporting crushed stones in reused sacks. It reiterated that all its official trucks are properly branded with company logos and fleet numbers for easy identification. Dangote Refinery to Roll Out 4,000 CNG Trucks for Nationwide Fuel Supply

The Dangote Refinery is preparing to begin nationwide fuel distribution using 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has confirmed. Speaking with reporters on Saturday, IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Maigandi, said the refinery is currently numbering the trucks and may commence distribution within a week. “The management told me they are numbering the trucks now. Once that is completed, distribution will begin. Nigerians should not panic about the short delay,” Maigandi said. He explained that the refinery’s direct-to-market supply plan would cut out middlemen, lower transportation costs, and eventually reduce fuel prices for consumers.
