AGN president urges CAN to reconsider stance on Ini Edo’s A Very Dirty Christmas
Outgoing Actors Guild of Nigeria president, Dr Ejezie Emeka Rollas, has called for calm and constructive dialogue between the Christian Association of Nigeria and the creative industry over reactions to Ini Edo’s film A Very Dirty Christmas. CAN had described the movie’s title as offensive to Christianity. Rollas argued that the title is not an insult to the Christian faith but a metaphorical and creative expression. He said it was intended to reflect the complex and sometimes messy realities that can surround the Christmas season, not to mock or trivialise Christian beliefs. In a statement, he noted that a full viewing of the film shows no scenes that ridicule or undermine Christianity.
