Super Eagles crush Mozambique to reach AFCON quarterfinals

Nigeria’s Super Eagles powered into the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals with a dominant 4 0 victory over Mozambique at the Complexe Sportif de Fès in Morocco. Victor Osimhen scored twice, while Ademola Lookman and Akor Adams added a goal each in a one sided round of 16 performance that took Nigeria’s tournament tally to 12 goals, the highest so far.​ Nigeria started strongly, with an early Osimhen effort ruled out for offside before Alex Iwobi forced a save from goalkeeper Ernan.
