CJN Hails Admission of Nigerian Judges to Global Body
The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has praised the acceptance of the National Association of Judges in Nigeria (NAJN) into the International Association of Judges (IAJ). Nigeria was formally admitted as the 93rd member of the global judicial body at its annual meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan. The CJN stated that this membership demonstrates global recognition and confidence in the Nigerian judiciary. She described it as a "moment of pride" and affirmed Nigeria's commitment to upholding the rule of law, judicial independence, and human rights. The IAJ, founded in 1953, is a professional, non-political organization dedicated to safeguarding the independence of the judiciary worldwide.
