Lai Mohammed Urges Nigerians To Back Tinubu On Insecurity
Former Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has called on Nigerians to give stronger support to President Bola Tinubu’s administration in its efforts to tackle insecurity. He said the scale and complexity of today’s security threats make it impossible for government and security agencies to succeed without active citizen cooperation. Speaking in an interview, Mohammed noted that the Tinubu government has introduced several measures to curb terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes. However, he argued that these steps will only produce lasting results if communities share information, resist propaganda and stop shielding criminals. He criticised what he described as a growing tendency to politicise security issues and to downplay government successes while amplifying failures.
