Togo’s CHU-Campus Launches 2026–2030 Reform Plan to Modernize Healthcare
Lomé, September 30, 2025 – The Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) Campus in Lomé has officially launched the development of its 2026–2030 Hospital Establishment Project (PEH), a five-year roadmap aimed at redefining the hospital’s mission, modernizing infrastructure, and improving the quality of care. A hospital under pressure Founded in 1988 with 200 beds, CHU-Campus has grown into Togo’s second-largest university hospital, now employing over 540 staff members. Yet, it is facing severe capacity limits due to demographic growth and an increasing burden of chronic diseases. “Our capacities are exceeded. The quality of care is a strategic priority that must guide our actions,” said Dr. Essotom Assina Kalao, Director-General of CHU-Campus.
