Pakistan and Austria vow to deepen ties on 70th anniversary of relations
Pakistan and Austria have agreed to further strengthen their bilateral relationship in areas including trade, investment, energy and education during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Vienna. The trip marks 70 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries and included talks with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker. In a joint statement, both sides highlighted plans to expand economic cooperation, particularly in renewable energy, green technology, climate resilience and digital innovation. They also discussed opportunities for Austrian firms to participate in infrastructure and industrial projects in Pakistan. Sharif and Stocker agreed to promote closer contacts between their private sectors, chambers of commerce and small and medium sized enterprises. They encouraged business delegations and trade missions in both directions to unlock new partnerships and joint ventures.
