Suspected Fulani militants unleash mayhem on Delta community
Suspected Fulani militants have reportedly invaded Umeh community in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, unleashing violence on residents and forcing many to flee. Community sources say the attackers have laid siege to the area for days, destroying farmlands and terrorising villagers. Local youth leader, Emmanuel Oko, said the militants have been moving with sophisticated weapons, shooting sporadically and preventing farmers from accessing their fields. He warned that the community is on the brink of collapse as people abandon their homes out of fear. Residents accuse the armed men of targeting Christian farmers and attempting to seize their ancestral land for grazing.
