A trusted pastor in Ogun State has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for the defilement of a 12-year-old girl, an act that resulted in her becoming a mother at the age of 13. The tragedy began when the victim, identified as Blessing, was sent home from school for an unpaid N1,500 textbook fee. With her parents away at work, their neighbour, Pastor Oluwole Jonathan of Christ Apostolic Church, Land of Mercy, invited the girl into his home. There, he drugged her and assaulted her.
