You Don’t Erect, Unveil Your Own Statue’ – Mahama Criticizes Akufo-Addo.
John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), recently criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over the unveiling of a statue in his own honor. Mahama, speaking at a campaign rally, questioned the humility of the act, suggesting that the President should let others recognize his achievements. The statue, located at the entrance of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, was unveiled during Akufo-Addo's “thank you” tour of the Western Region. According to Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, it honors Akufo-Addo's contributions to regional development, including the hospital's renovation, the construction of a three-tier Sinohydro interchange, and the redevelopment of Takoradi Market Circle.
