Nigeria’s Egypt friendly in doubt as NFF moves AFCON camp to Morocco
Nigeria’s build up to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has been disrupted after a late FIFA directive forced the Nigeria Football Federation to redraw its pre tournament schedule, putting the high profile friendly against Egypt in serious doubt. FIFA has issued a new circular allowing European clubs to keep African players until 15 December instead of 8 December, cutting national team preparation time and upsetting earlier plans. The Super Eagles were initially due to open camp in Cairo on 10 December and face the Pharaohs in a friendly at the Cairo International Stadium four days later, before flying to Morocco for their final preparations.
