Aniwaba Slams Acheampong Over Tribal Comments in NPP
The Assistant Northern Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Aniwaba K.B. Jeremiah, has strongly condemned recent remarks by Abetifi MP and flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, linking the party’s 2024 electoral defeat to so-called “tribal dynamics” around Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s candidacy. In a statement, Mr. Aniwaba described the comments as “unguided and inappropriate,” arguing that they undermine the NPP’s core values of unity, tolerance, and maturity. He urged the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council (NC) to call Dr. Acheampong to order and demanded an unqualified apology to both Ghanaians and the party’s grassroots.
