Netherlands Donates Mechanized Boreholes to Upper West Region Communities.
As part of the Healthy Future for All (HF4A) project, the Netherlands Development Organization (SNV) has constructed and handed over nine solar-powered mechanized water systems to communities in the Nandom Municipal and Lambussie District of the Upper West Region. These systems aim to enhance water supply, sanitation, and hygiene, providing up to 2,220 gallons of potable water daily. Each water system includes a borehole, a 10,000-litre tank elevated on a reinforced concrete platform, a distribution network, and solar power generators. The newly commissioned facilities were connected to local health centers and schools, including the Piina, Naawie, and Naapaal Health Centres, and the Karni Basic School.
