Bole-Bamboi MP Petitions Interior Minister Over Security Misconduct Claims
Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi, Yusif Sulemana, has formally petitioned the Minister for the Interior over alleged misconduct by security forces enforcing a curfew in Bole and surrounding communities. In a letter dated September 4, Sulemana said he was acting on complaints from the Arise Bole Youth, who accused law enforcement officers of harassment, intimidation, and other abuses during curfew operations. The petition cited two serious allegations: dragging residents from their homes and detaining them without lawful justification. Witnesses further reported cases of harassment, physical assault, and degrading treatment. Disturbingly, one account suggested that an elderly man lost his life after an encounter with security personnel.
