GES Releases Academic Calendar for 2025/2026 Basic Schools
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the 2025/2026 academic calendar for Kindergarten, Primary, and Junior High Schools across Ghana. The academic year is set to run from September 2, 2025, to July 24, 2026, with the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) scheduled from May 4 to May 11, 2026. Term Dates & Breaks Term 1: Sep 2 – Dec 18, 2025 Christmas Vacation: Dec 19, 2025 – Jan 7, 2026 Mid‑term break: Oct 31 – Nov 3, 2025 Term 2: Jan 8 – Apr 1, 2026 Easter Vacation: Apr 2 – Apr 20, 2026 Term 3: Apr 21 – Jul 23, 2026 Key Examination Window The BECE, which is critical for JHS graduates, will take place May 4–11, 2026, enabling students to conclude Term 2 and begin Term 3 with sufficient preparation time.
