EC Destroys Defective Ballot Papers for Ahafo, Volta Regions.

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has destroyed defective ballot papers intended for the Ahafo and Volta regions ahead of the December 7 elections. These materials were discarded due to serialisation errors during printing.The destruction occurred on November 21, 2024, at the Adipa Waste Management Centre near Nsawam, in the presence of political party representatives, the National Intelligence Bureau, the Ghana Police Service, and media.Key Details:Affected Ballots: 184 presidential and 66 parliamentary bags for the Volta Region; 67 presidential and 21 parliamentary bags for the Ahafo Region.Total Papers Destroyed: Thousands of ballot paper booklets, with varying leaflets.Asante Kissi, Deputy Director of Electoral Services, assured the public of the EC's transparency and commitment to electoral integrity, highlighting that disposal certificates were signed by all stakeholders.Reprints for the affected ballots are being handled by Bucks Press and Acts Commercials.
