UK ex-envoy Mandelson freed on bail in Epstein probe

London police have released former UK ambassador and senior politician Peter Mandelson on bail as investigations continue into his links with late US financier Jeffrey Epstein. He was arrested on Monday on suspicion of misconduct in public office, days after ex-prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was detained in a related case.​ The Metropolitan Police said in a brief statement that a 72 year old man arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office had been released on bail pending further inquiries. Court Grants Sowore, Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer Bail in Protest Case

A Magistrate Court in Kuje, Abuja, has granted bail to activist Omoyele Sowore, Nnamdi Kanu's lawyer Aloy Ejimakor, and 11 others who were arrested during a protest demanding Kanu's release. The 13 defendants were arraigned on charges including unlawful assembly, inciting disturbance, and disturbance of public peace. They all pleaded not guilty to the charges. The court granted each defendant bail in the sum of ₦500,000 with two sureties in like sum. The sureties are required to provide tax clearance and a valid means of identification. The case has been adjourned until December 15, 2025, for a hearing. The bail was granted after the court found the prosecution's counter-affidavit against the bail application to be invalid, as it was filed under the wrong case number.

Lebanese Judge Grants Gaddafi’s Son $11m Bail

A Lebanese judge has ordered the release of Hannibal Gaddafi, son of the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, on an $11 million bail after nearly a decade in pre-trial detention. Gaddafi was arrested in 2015 and accused of withholding information about the 1978 disappearance of Lebanese Shiite cleric Mussa Sadr. The judge also imposed a travel ban.
