Lookman backed to shine as Atalanta face Athletic Club
Atalanta coach Raffaele Palladino has praised Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman for returning early from AFCON duty to join his teammates for tonight’s UEFA Champions League clash with Athletic Club. Lookman was one of the Super Eagles’ standout players at AFCON, scoring three goals and netting the winning kick in the bronze medal shootout against Egypt. Palladino said Lookman was officially due back on Wednesday but pushed to be available for the game at all costs. He described this as a sign of the player’s strong attachment to Atalanta and his professionalism. The coach believes his side have a great opportunity in the tie against the Spanish club.
