Man Kills Father in Adansi South District

Residents of Nartey, near Menang in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region, have been left in shock after a 27-year-old man allegedly killed his father by slitting his throat. The tragic incident, which happened on Wednesday, has thrown the entire community into mourning. Witnesses revealed that the suspect, identified as Richard Yeboah, had previously attempted to harm his father on two separate occasions before finally carrying out the fatal attack. Robert Odami, Assembly Member for the Menang Electoral Area, confirmed the incident and described the atmosphere in the community as tense and fearful. Man Found Dead in Girlfriend’s Room

A man in his early 30s has been discovered dead under suspicious circumstances in his girlfriend’s room at Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region. The deceased, Emmanuel Somuah, reportedly worked as an illegal miner (galamsey operator). According to residents, Emmanuel had rented the room for his girlfriend, Cynthia, and often spent weekends there. However, Cynthia was also alleged to entertain other men at the residence. An eyewitness recounted that on Saturday around 5 pm, Emmanuel arrived unexpectedly and found Cynthia with another man identified as Jeffrey. Moments later, Jeffrey was seen fleeing the scene. Emmanuel was later discovered lying unconscious on the floor. Tenants rushed Emmanuel to the Toase Hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival. 34-year-old taxi driver arrested for allegedly killing his 23-year-old girlfriend

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested a 34-year-old taxi driver over the alleged murder of his long-time girlfriend at Abuakwa in the Ashanti Region. Robert Kwabena Boamah was arrested at his hideout in Namong, Offinso Municipality, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, three days after he went into hiding. He is alleged to have picked up the deceased, 23-year-old Dorothy Owusu Annor, also known as Maa Abena, on April 21 in his taxi cab from her family’s house at Abuakwa. The police say that shortly after the two left the deceased’s family house to bake bread, they received a distress call about the discovery of a body of an unidentified female adult.
