Armed Herdsmen, Boko Haram Kill Soldiers, Civilians in Benue and Borno

Three people were killed on Sunday by suspected armed herdsmen in Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, while Boko Haram insurgents attacked a military base in Borno State, killing two soldiers. The Yelewata attack occurred weeks after a similar incident reportedly claimed over 200 lives in the same community, despite government assurances of improved security. Witnesses said the victims were attacked on their farms, with three others injured and several escaping unharmed. The killings sparked protests by women from the community, who blocked the Makurdi–Lafia Road, demanding government action to end the violence and allow over 3,000 displaced residents to return home.
