Soludo Declared Winner of Anambra Governorship Election by INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially declared Governor Chukwuma Soludo as the winner of the Anambra State governorship election held on November 8, 2025. The declaration was made in Awka by the Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie. Soludo, representing the All Progressives Grand Alliance, received 422,664 votes, with his closest rival Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress obtaining 99,445 votes. Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party secured 37,753 votes, George Moghalu of the Labour Party got 10,576, and John Nwosu from the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress had 8,208. Observers and election officials praised the transparency and peaceful conduct of the poll, noting that 99.4% of results were uploaded online. The outcome highlights a decisive win for Soludo and the APGA party, reflecting the will of Anambra State voters.
