Tanker overturns on Liverpool Bridge as officials avert disaster
A major disaster was averted on Monday after a diesel laden tanker overturned on Liverpool Bridge, outward Apapa, in the Tin Can Island area of Lagos. Videos showed residents rushing to scoop the spilled diesel in jerrycans and other containers before authorities arrived. Emergency agencies, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and the Police, moved in quickly after the videos went viral. Their swift response helped to secure the area and prevent a possible fire outbreak.
