Four mourners die, nine injured in Anambra multi vehicle crash

Four women returning from a burial have died and nine other persons were injured in a multiple vehicle crash at Agulu Lake along the Nanka Agulu road in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State. The accident, which happened around 6:18 p m on Friday, involved 19 people and four vehicles, including a Toyota Hiace bus, a shuttle bus, a trailer and a Toyota Hilux. According to the Federal Road Safety Corps, the victims were travelling back from a funeral when the bus they boarded, descending a hill at high speed, lost control and crashed into three other vehicles. Soludo Declared Winner of Anambra Governorship Election by INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially declared Governor Chukwuma Soludo as the winner of the Anambra State governorship election held on November 8, 2025. FG warns of fresh flooding in Lagos, Adamawa, 12 other states

The Federal Government has issued a fresh warning of possible flooding in Lagos, Adamawa, and 12 other states, urging residents in high-risk communities to take precautionary measures. In a flood prediction bulletin released on Tuesday by the National Flood Early Warning Centre of the Federal Ministry of Environment, heavy rainfall is expected between September 16 and 18 across 14 states and 52 communities. Cult clash in Anambra: Police arrest four suspected cultists

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested four suspected cultists following a violent clash in Nsugbe, Anambra East Local Government Area. The confrontation, which broke out in the early hours of Tuesday behind Nwafor Orizu College of Education, saw armed men attack one another with cutlasses, bottles, daggers and other weapons, according to police.
