Joana Gyan Cudjoe Sues Electoral Commission Over Disqualification.
Joana Gyan Cudjoe, an aspiring parliamentary candidate for the Amenfi Central constituency, has taken legal action against the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana following her disqualification from the upcoming parliamentary race. The EC disqualified her citing alleged irregularities in her nomination forms. Cudjoe, who is vying for the seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), believes the disqualification was unfair and not in accordance with the laws of Ghana.According to her legal team, the EC's decision violates her constitutional rights as a citizen and a candidate. Cudjoe argues that the EC failed to offer her an opportunity to correct any discrepancies before taking the drastic step of disqualifying her.
