Troops destroy kidnappers’ camps, arrest 13 in Edo
Troops of the Nigerian Army have destroyed kidnappers’ camps in Edo North Senatorial District, arresting 13 suspects and recovering weapons, drugs and other items. Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations for 4 Brigade, Capt Kennedy Anyanwu, said the February 4 operation was carried out by troops of 4 Brigade in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force, Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and Edo State Security Corps. He said the raids focused on Osara, Auchi and Okpella communities in Etsako West Local Government Area. According to him, the clearance operation, codenamed Operation IGBO DANU 1, led to the arrest of eight suspected kidnappers and drug peddlers.
