African Swine Fever Devastates Pig Farmers in Damongo
The outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Damongo, the capital of Ghana’s Savannah Region, has caused widespread devastation among local pig farmers. Hundreds of pigs have died as the disease spreads across several communities, including Canteen, Attributu, Boroto, and Sori Number One.Farmers are struggling with heavy losses and have resorted to burying sick pigs and disposing of dead ones to contain the outbreak. This situation is particularly hard for farmers still recovering from a previous ASF outbreak in 2023.
