Namibia Bids Farewell to Founding Father Sam Nujoma

Namibia has laid to rest its founding father, Sam Nujoma, in a grand ceremony at Heroes' Acre, where the nation’s most esteemed figures are honored. President Nangolo Mbumba praised Nujoma as "a giant among leaders" who left behind the priceless gift of freedom.Nujoma, who led Namibia’s independence struggle against apartheid South Africa, passed away last month at the age of 95. His burial, marked by a military procession and heartfelt tributes, was attended by thousands, including leaders from Angola, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.His leadership saw Namibia break free from South African rule in 1990, and as its first president, he championed national reconciliation, women’s rights, and economic stability. His legacy remains deeply woven into Namibia’s history.
