Appianyinasehene Celebrates BECE Stars with Cash Awards at Akwasidae.

Nana Kwanin Kwanfo II, the Appianyinasehene of Juaben in the Ashanti Region, marked the first Akwasidae celebration by awarding top-performing BECE candidates in the Juaben Municipality. Female students with aggregate 6 received GH₵3,000, while those scoring aggregates 8 and 9 were given GH₵2,000 and GH₵1,500, respectively, along with other goodies. Helina Asiedua Acquah from Atia MA JHS was named the overall best student. The initiative, inspired by the Otumfuo Education Fund, aims to motivate students to excel academically.

Mfantsipim School, Osei Tutu Senior High School, and Presbyterian Boys' Secondary School (PRESEC) have earned places in the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) 2024 semifinals, following a thrilling series of quarterfinals. Mfantsipim narrowly defeated Prempeh College with a final score of 56 points after a dramatic tie-breaker, leaving Prempeh at 53. In another tight match, Osei Tutu overcame Apam SHS and Ghana Secondary Technical School, finishing with 46 points. PRESEC displayed impressive strength, winning their contest with 59 points and securing their spot. These semifinalists are now prepared for an intense battle in the next round.
