China based businessman, two Angolans held for 236 cocaine wraps

A China based Nigerian businessman and two Angolan nationals have been arrested after excreting a combined 236 wraps of cocaine at the Abuja and Kano international airports. The suspects were intercepted by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency during outbound screening for international flights. NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi said 34 year old Nigerian, Ibeanu Vincent Chukwudulue, was arrested on a Qatar Airways flight from Kano to China via Abuja and Doha. Acting on intelligence, officers asked that he be deboarded in Abuja, where a body scan showed he had ingested illicit drugs. He was placed under observation and later excreted 52 pellets of cocaine weighing 735.95 grams. Ogba: El-Rufai should face DSS over seized passport

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Chidi Ogba, has urged former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai to report to the Department of State Services (DSS) over the seizure of his international passport. Ogba said there is nothing wrong with making himself available for questioning if he is confident he has done nothing wrong. Security agents recently intercepted El-Rufai at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after his return from Cairo, Egypt, and confiscated his passport. His lawyer condemned the incident as an attempted arrest without a warrant and described the seizure of the passport as unconstitutional and an abuse of power.
