Tinubu to inaugurate Aba–Port Harcourt Expressway in May – Umahi

Minister of Works, David Umahi, says President Bola Tinubu will inaugurate the Aba–Port Harcourt Expressway in May this year. He disclosed this during an unscheduled inspection of the project, where he expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the road. Umahi said the expressway, a key section of the Enugu–Port Harcourt corridor passing through Abia and Rivers States, is almost completed and on track for commissioning within the announced date. He noted that adequate funds have been provided by the Federal Government to ensure contractors deliver the project without delay. Otti to predecessors: No law says I must live in Govt House

Abia State governor Alex Otti says no law compels him to live or work from the Government House in Umuahia, despite threats by some former governors to sue him over the issue. Speaking at a media parley in Umuahia, Otti said he is ready for any legal challenge and has already consulted his lawyers. He noted that after studying the Constitution, he found no provision that forces a governor to reside in a particular location. Otti explained that he currently operates from his private residence in Nvosi because the Governor’s Lodge and offices in Government House were left in a deplorable condition by previous administrations. Otti says visit to Nnamdi Kanu is about peace not politics

Abia State Governor Alex Otti says his recent visit to detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu at the Sokoto Correctional Centre was driven purely by a search for dialogue and peace, not by any future political ambition.
