Former Senate Leader Mohammed Ali Ndume has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the growing controversy over Nigeria’s new Tax Reform Acts by suspending their planned January implementation. He said the president should not allow the laws to take off while serious questions remain about the authenticity of the version he assented to. Ndume noted that opposition leaders, civil society groups and the Nigerian Bar Association have all raised alarms about alleged alterations between the bills passed by the National Assembly and the gazetted laws.
