Troops repel bandits’ incursion into Kano communities
Troops of the Joint Task Force have foiled an attempted incursion by suspected bandits into several communities in Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State.The operation, led by 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army with other security agencies, was launched after credible intelligence on the movement of the armed group around parts of the council. Security sources said the troops moved swiftly towards the identified routes and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle, forcing them to retreat into nearby forest areas.The intervention helped to protect vulnerable settlements that have previously been targeted for cattle rustling and other criminal activities.
